Beauty Spotlight: Get #Binked

Hey dolls! So I have another beauty spot light for you today but this one is a little different. I started Beauty spot lights to shine light on some of my favorite beauty guru in the industry. I've decied to change that up a bit and shine some light on not only the well known people and brands but also up and coming people! So today I bring you an interviews I did with makeup artist/Nail tech from the BGSU campus which if you don't know is the  university  I originally attended. 

A little about "Bink" 

Bianca is a senior at BGSU and she is majoring in Psychology with an art minor. She currently a self taught nail tech and make up artist.

"So tell me what exactly does 'Binked and Binkism' mean?" 

"Bink began with me being weird. My freshman year, all my friends would go out and I would sit in my dorm room and play in make up. The summer after this year I started doing my nails again. My cousin originally taught me at the age of 12 because my mom said the only way I could get my nails done was if I did it myself so I did. Following this summer my roommate at the time told me I should do this on campus once we get back. I didn't think it would actually work but it did! That fall semester business was booming" 

"How was business your junior year?" 

 "Jr year I was focusing on my academic taking 17-18 credit hours so I couldn't do nails as much but I did so much my sophomore year people still wanted me  'Well can you fit me in ill come at 11pm'  also during my jr I stated getting payed for my makeup services sophomore year I volunteered so once I got a good reputation I was able to get contracts and actual  business and pay for my services. 

"What do you think it is that set you apart from other nail techs and make up artist on campus"

" Well being Bink is about getting your services to the best of my ability. Apart of that process is me, what sets me about is I genuinely  care! Its not about money to me I enjoy doing this I enjoy the relationship I build with my clients."  

"What is your ultimate goal with make up and nails?"

"My goal is to intersect cosmetology and art therapy, I can't tell you how  I'm going to do it because I haven't enter my masters program for art therapy to be trained on that area but I just know I'm going to do it! I see the relationship between the two and I believe I can connect the two. They are very diverse different fields but I just want to connect the two. I can't say I will have an art therapy studio, or nail studio, or make up studio but whatever I have I will be using all three together. 

"I can defiantly see the relationship between the two people love opening up to me as a stylist " 

"Exactly I can tell a child, a mother...I could tell myself you're going to see a therapist and the defense mechanism  being 'I'm not going to talk about my problems, I don't know you, I'm not crazy' but being an nail tech makeup artist this girls walk through the door and poor everything out to me. So I want be trained to handle what is being told to me and I want people to be comfortable with me. "

"So tell me about the event you have coming up? "

"This event is geared towards focusing on maintenance of healthy beauty. Not only will I have Bink, Binkism but also my friends business Hair crave that makes wigs. We will have everything from tutorials, educations sessions, healthy eating, makeup removal, nail remove everything! We will also have vendors that will be selling products including myself, haircrave, healthy snacks, maybe make up everything!"

"Will there be anymore events in the future?" 

 

"We would love to travel. There is a need for college women with fast paste life style who need help maintaining a healthy lifestyle and I just want to help eliminate that trial and error stage or help women in that stage get past that"

"So what is your next step?" 

"We'll I about to graduate BGSU class of 2014!! Then in June I want to start cosmetology school. Then go on yo get my masters and PHD!
